Praetorius (1640-1707) wrote his "unimaginative proposal how the disputes between Catholics and Protestants can be settled" even before he converted to Catholicism (1684) as Protestant pastor in Niebudzien (East Prussia). "The publication... was delayed because the Königsberg theologians, to whom Praetorius had sent his writing (1682) for review, retained it for years". After its delayed publication, the Irish work was "fiercely opposed by Protestant theologians, and was indexed in Rome because of many errors" (LThK). (Browned resp. foxing, title and endpapers with notes resp. (unread) stamp of a theol. foreign library). - With: Zeidler, M. Refutatio Tubae pacis (Latin.) ...
