A rare Chinese biscuit porcelain sancai glazed 'erotic' phoenic group, Kangxi period, modelled as a phoenix perched on a roosting box, with flap enclosing a copulating couple, 9cm high
Provenance: The Jonas and Gabita Gadelius Collection, Vanderven Oriental Art, according to paper label to base
Some minor firing flaws to edges. The flap has been rebuilt. UV shows elements of professional restoration to tail, feathers, and parts of foliage.
