Pendant in 18k (750 thousandths) yellow gold depicting the shackled Love resting on a drop-shaped baroque pearl, the body of the winged angel held captive by a rope, its hair formed of granulations (small lacks in the enamel). Work from the end of the 18th century, beginning of the 19th century.
Height approx. 4.4 cm
Gross weight : 4.4 g.
This pendant is to be compared to the style of the pendants of the XVIth century because of the use of the baroque pearl and the white enamel used between the end of the XIVth and the beginning of the XVIIth century.
This pendant can also be compared to a Neapolitan pendant by Melillo (1845-1915) representing in another form the shackled Love in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
