Request made to the Parliament on May 21, 1731 by VIDAUD Attorney General of the King: "The number of exposed children is so great, that hardly the income of the General Hospital of Grenoble is sufficient to provide for the maintenance of these abandoned children....Permission to the Sindic of the General Hospital of GRENOBLE to have foreign girls found pregnant, or who have given birth in the City and Suburbs of GRENOBLE (38), taken to their place of birth; and enjoins their parents & in the absence of Parents, the Consuls... to take care of the children..." - Vignette of the Dauphiné.
