A Small Phallos-rider

Hellenistic to Roman 2nd cent. B.C.-2nd cent. A.D.. Bronze. H. 3.4 cm Little dwarf with visible hunch, riding with his buttocks and angled legs on his own phallos. The head tilted to the right perches on the torso without a neck. Caricaturesque, pointed oval-shaped face with ears lying flat against it and pointed cap with short pom-pom. Possibly Alexandrinian type. Figure for a game of dice, or amulet. Condition: Intact. Formerly priv. coll. J. B., Switzerland, acquired in the 1960's-1970's.
