Greek 6th cent. B.C.. Terracotta. H. 8.7 cm. W. 7.9 cm. D. 3.1 cm Upper body of a female statuette with long hair and a so-called Archaic smile. Breasts emphasized plastically. A pomegranate (?) on each shoulder (Hera ?). Flatly modelled. Smoothed back. Condition: Tip of nose slightly worn. Surface slightly worn and sintered. A few (modern) adhesive residues on the back. Formerly Coll. Prof. Hans Dahn (1919-2019), Lausanne; acquired 1954.
