RARE POLYCHROMED CABINET Walnut H.191 cm, W.108 cm, D. 62.5 cm Restorations of use and maintenance, one lock missing This very rare high quality Spanish cabinet is presented on a high base composed of fluted side uprights that rest on feet. On the front, four leaves are delicately carved with diamond motifs. The upper and lower doors are separated from each other by a narrow band with motifs of posts, small crosses and rhombuses symmetrically arranged on either side of a flower. The lower part is marked by a sinuous cut-out. The cornice is underlined by a frieze of dentils and supports an openwork pediment. The latter, composed of a perfectly symmetrical assembly of cartouches, strips and various geometrical shapes, breaks with the simplicity and rigour of the whole. It also gives it a delicate touch of originality through its curved lines.
