oil on canvas, 162x110 cm, At the base of the painting there is a famous invention by Titian, unfortunately destroyed by a fire that broke out in 1867. Executed between 1528 and 1530, the painting was located in the Basilica of Saints John and Paul in Venice, originally on wood, and was later transported on canvas. Our exemplar documents very well the success that the invention of the painter from Cadore found among copyists even in the late seventeenth century.
