Former library of Eugène de LANNEAu (1807-1894)
To plunge into the library of Eugène de Lanneau (1807-1894), son of Victor de Lanneau, a figure of the Revolution and re-founder of the Collège Sainte-Barbe, is like looking out of the window of a country house from the garden on a summer's day.
One imagines a furnished room under the Restoration. Letters from Henri d'Orléans and Lamartine on a desk are waiting for an answer. The books are carefully bound and form a homogeneous library rich in varied knowledge.
The numerous autographs sent illustrate the wide literary and friendly circle of the master of the house.
The 200 years or so of this library have printed on the worn, rubbed and freckled volumes. We underline it here so as not to repeat it in each card.
