REMOJADAS STYLE: A TRADITION IN THE CRADLE OF ANCIENT MESOAMERICAN CERAMIC ART Ceramic sculptures and vessels in the Remojadas style may be found throughout the southern Gulf Coast of Mexico, especially in the southern part of Veracruz state. The tropical forest there is less dense than in the thick jungle to the south and east, but this area is frmly within the humid tropical lowlands. While the art of this area is often overshadowed by the earlier Olmec who developed in the thick jungle just to the east, the southern Veracruz region produced some of the most stunning large ceramic sculpture in all of ancient Mesoamerica.
