Set of manuscripts, bound, entitled "Eugene Sue - L'école des amants", consisting of 5 manuscripts (n.d.s.). 1st Ms entitled " 1er plan de l'École des amants dans lequel la maid dominated the mistress " 4 p. et 2 demipages in-fol. Sue details the 5 acts and the scenes; The 2nd untitled Ms of 7 p. ½ in-4° and 1 p. in-fol.: it lists and describes each character "... The Duke of Montano Senator Gd Civil servant... 40 years old - very serious - very learned busy with Scientific Experiments - of very good family of dress... "3rd Ms. entitled "Beginning of the 1st act of the School for Lovers", 13 p. in-fol.; 4th Ms. "Beginning of the 1st act - thrown about" 22 p. in-4°, 5th Ms. "End of the plan of the 1st act - written up to this point of the act" 5 p. in-4°. These last three manuscripts are drafts " of Act 1 of the School for Lovers " quite different from each other. The first begins with a prologue, then scene 1 with the entrance of the valet. The second one starts in scene 1, without the prologue, the characters are The Duchess of Montano, Angelique, The Duke. The third manuscript starts somewhere in the middle of scene 4 until the end of act 1.
