150 bottles AOC Limoux TOQUES & CLOCHERS - Clocher ALET-LES-BAINS (Winegrower Daniel Lacube, terroir Haute-Vallée) Tasting
notes: Eye: pale yellow robe, brilliant, limpid. Nose: citrus and floral notes with a hint of exoticism. Palate: beautiful attack with a good freshness. A tense wine, with lemony notes and a hint of spice. The finish is long, first on the lemony side to finish on the salty side.
Winegrower: The Clocher d'Alet plot is on the Payrouliès estate managed by Daniel Lacube. The history of this estate is intimately linked to the development of the railway line linking Carcassonne to Quillan, inaugurated in 1878, crossing the estate from one side to the other. At that time, the financial manna allocated by the Compagnie des chemins de Fer du Midi allowed the former owner to raise the first stones. In 1967, André Lacube, then a young farmer, acquired the estate and its nine hectares of vines. The land work undertaken by André and Daniel made it possible to increase the surface area on the overhanging hillside, which was very well exposed, to a total surface area of 20 hectares. Another special feature is that the plot is located at the mouth of the Alet gorges, which favours a light wind in all seasons, sheltering the vines from white frost and bringing freshness in summer. This breeze is called the Espanine and can be compared to the "warm wind that comes from Spain and makes all the shepherds sing", dear to Luis Mariano.
