150 bottles AOC Limoux TOQUES & CLOCHERS - Clocher la DIGNE D'AVAL (Vigneron Bernard Doutre, Autan terroir) Tasting
notes: Eye: pale yellow robe, brilliant, limpid. Nose: good intensity on exotic notes, a hint of pineapple and citrus fruits (lemon). Palate: nice attack, fresh wine where citrus fruit and spices notes are mixed, with a peppery note and a light toasted note giving a nice balance. The finish is quite long, with spices, and ends on a salty note.
Winegrower : It was Bernard Doutre's father, Julien, who settled as a winegrower in the commune of La Digne d'Aval, taking over from several generations of winegrowers.
Acquiring plots of land around the village, Julien farms eight hectares of vines. In 1978, Julien planted the current parcel of Chardonnay which represents the Bell Tower of La Digne d'Aval. His son, Bernard, settled in 1992 and will continue to develop the surface area of the estate, which currently totals 20 hectares.
