It was with the aim of discovering a way to get to China, faster than by sea, that Father
Avril began his journey by following the merchants' roads. He had to turn back after reaching the Astrakhan. His report contains important astronomical observations and curious details about the countries he crossed and their inhabitants. It indicates up to six routes to China.
Very good copy.
Back skillfully pulled up.
