GORADIS - KARABAGH (Caucasus - Armenia), woven around 1880
An anthracite field covered with pastel vegetal branches in the Savonnerie's taste welcomes three important polylobed cruciform floral medallions in ivory, brick, pistachio and chestnut interspersed with blazoned compositions. The main anthracite border is adorned with stylised, multicoloured, vegetal scorpions. Two brick counter-borders, one Greek-style and the other with buds, enclose the main one. Wonderful Goradis decoration (South Karabagh/Artsakh)
