Exceptional and important BÉCHIR carpet (Central Asia: Turkmen), early 19th century
Midnight blue field with stylized vegetal sowing, foliage, garnet, parma and wine sediment flowers. Five polychrome octagonal medallions are distributed in the center and in the corners of the field. Two main borders with stylised palmettes and polychrome decoration reminiscent of the central motif of the Kazak-Sevan are flanked by counter-borders with trimmings and a series of flowers. Very beautiful cardboard.
