period A rectangular purple field with alcoves, covered with volutes of floral scrolls supports a large moulded polylobed ivory medallion decorated with a braid of flowers and a polychrome country bouquet. Delicate floral and leafy stems run all around the medallion. The border is a moulded figurative ivory, cream and chestnut frame, adorned with floral compositions and angular openwork with acanthus leaves and wildflowers. Magnificent ensemble of great distinction.
