Important and original BIDJAR (Iran), late 19th, early 20th
century A ruby field, highlighted with lacework, supports a seedling of large multicoloured medallions, with figurative plant frames and naive-style 'illustrated' subjects. Two royal blue counterborders with garlands of stylized flowers frame the main salmon-flower with interlacing polychrome vegetal branches forming small bouquets. Magnificent and vivid palette. Decoration reminiscent of the French soap factory (influence of the French invasion of Russia under Napoleon 1st)
