decoration to the Ardebil carpet exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London
The star of this carpet is the magnificent ivory poly-lobed rosette, with a turquoise heart, crowned with majestic ornamented petals, placed on a sea field, highlighted in fuchsia, covered with multicoloured, convoluted plant interlacing. Two pendants in the shape of oil lamps lead us to the ends of the carpet, where in each corner, spandrels take up a quarter of the imposing central decoration. An ivory counter border with bluish twigs, another with flowers and "tchis" frame the main fuchsia border or are cut out ivory medallions and marine cartouches decorated with polychrome cruciform floral forms.
