BREITLING (CHRONOGRAPH CHRONOMAT 1st GENERATION - STEEL REF. 769), circa 1949 Rare first-generation pilot's chronograph in chromed steel with fluted bezel, clip-on back (numbered and bearing the Breitling reference 769). Patinated silvered dial with several graduation scales (for calculating average speeds), tachymeter scale. Two small circled counters, seconds totalizer at 9 o'clock, minutes at 3 o'clock, red chrono second hand in the centre. Arabic numerals and luminescent skeleton hands. N.A.T.O. bracelet. Movement: Unsigned hand-wound mechanical calibre / Venus 175 Swiss. Diam. 36 mm. Condition: Fairly good
