Statuette presenting a masked dancer, his hands symbolically positioned palms forward. He wears the mask "Cikunza" symbolizing fecundity and used during the initiations of young boys and Mukandé circumcision ceremonies. Wood, old patina, used for honey and brown Tchokwé, Angola, late 19th century 28 x 5 x 7 cm Provenance: acquired from Mr Koening, Brussels in the 1970s
