Pair of statues showing a couple of standing naked dignitaries, the woman's body adorned with incised scarification marks. They display a beautiful hieratic expression, their coffee bean eyes giving them a concentrated look. Hardwood, old honey and brown patina Tchokwé, probably Lunda region, Angola, late 19th-early 20th century 39 x 8 cm; 39.5 x 8 cm Provenance: Acquired from Mr Koening, Brussels in the 1970s.
