The broad, strongly curved, Persian single-edged blade in beautifully figured wootz-Damascus. The obverse with chiselled, calligraphic cartouches "Oh You are the One that grants my wishes" and "Made by Assad Allah", with a frame of inlaid brass. The quillons of wootz-Damascus, with a fine decorative border inlaid in gold. Light horn grip scales, the engraved grip frame and the eyelet rivets in gilt silver. The wooden scabbard covered in shagreen leather, the two iron suspension bars with fine, gold-inlaid décor (slightly abraded). Length 99 cm.
A magnificent shamshir in untouched, original condition, the superlative Persian blade with the original surface.
