MANUSCRIPTS: Very important set of autograph correspondence addressed to members of the MESTRAL family, Swiss scholars and writers, between the 1860s and 1930s. The set includes about 180 signed autograph letters and cards, often kept with the envelopes. Among the approximately 150 signatories are the names of François COTY, General BRECARD, Canon BOURBON, Eugène and René BURNAND, the Countess de GASPARIN, Eug. PENARD, Ferdinand BUISSON (23 letters), Georges and Jules CLARETIE, Edouard ESTAUNIE, Emile FAGUET, Philippe GODET, the famous Swiss historian and director of the Foyer Romand, Henri de JOUVENEL, Alphonse de LAMARTINE, Marshal LYAUTEY, Camille MAUCLAIR, Anna de NOAILLES, Maurice PALEOLOGUE, Francis de PRESSENSE, Raoul PICTET, Henri de REGNIER, Romain ROLLAND, André SIEGFRIED, Admiral SCHWERER, Marcel SCHWOB, René BAZIN, René BENJAMIN, André BELLESSORT, l'abbé BREMOND, BRUNETIERE, etc. Of which :
- CONSTANT (Benjamin),1845-1902, French Orientalist painter: three L.A.S.
- FLAMMARION (Camille), 1842-1925, French astronomer: autograph card.
- VALLOTTON (Benjamin), 1877-1962, writer and journalist from Vaud : nine L.A.S. written between 1916 and 1932.
- BENOIT (Pierre), 1886-1962, French writer : literary letter.
