Brass mount, raised to the line. Basane hilt with watermark (accident). Short skirted cap. Guard with a strong hollowed out limb, with two wide quillons in shield, on one side, chiselled and decorated with a grenade on a radiating background, surmounted by a laurel wreath. Curved, flat-cheeked quillon. Curved blade with flat back, engraved "Coulaux Frères Klingenthal", with counter-edged and hollow sides.
Leather scabbard with two cut-out brass trimmings (posterior).
With a golden thread strap with an acorn.
