Knife
Topoke, Congo
Knife with a lanceolate blade decorated with two median edges and an incised decoration of parallel striations on each side. The choke handle is decorated with copper wires and ends in a large ogival-shaped pommel with cut-off sides.
Iron, copper wires. 49.5 x 13 cm.
The use of this weapon consisted in being thrown from the top of a tree at an animal or an enemy, the heavy pommel then knocking the prey down.
