Knife and scabbard. The blade has a lanceolate shape with ribbed decoration. The sculpted handle finished with a head topped with braids. The leather sheath is decorated with five large patinated shells sewn together lengthwise.
Iron, leather, wood with brown patina, shells, plant fibres. Total length with the scabbard: 49.5 cm. Width: 12 cm approx.
These weapons, with scabbards decorated with shells tinted red, contain typical weapons of the Baoule of Ivory Coast. Their shimmering colours and their imposing scabbards make them ornamental knives, whose size can vary.
