nature of certain things

Biography, presentation of artistic approach:
Born on 13 February 1966 in Deauville, Philippe Brosse lives and works in Villerville.
"I've never been able to do anything but paint every day since I was 13 years old.
I paint chairs, armchairs, still lifes, landscapes, trees to find the light produced by the alchemy of colour and paint.
I paint to compensate, to work, to understand, to celebrate life, out of urgency, to be out of time, not to narrate, not to write, to escape from the image, to survive in the society of men, to meet them, to pierce mysteries, for the absolute, to touch the other, to make the so visible appear from the invisible.
I figure, I disfigure, I refigure until matter comes to life, until something happens.
I cover, I cover, I dig not so that we can see, but so that we can feel.
I want my painting to be a stone of life.
At present, I live and paint in Normandy in a village perched between the top of the forest and the sea.
