Biography, presentation of artistic approach:
Born on December 4, 1960, Benoît Delomez lives and works in Athis-de-l'Orne.
Meat (from the Latin vivenda : what is used to live) which can be both attraction and repulsion, is then chosen as the food of the work. What is used to live is of course made of proteins but of many other things that are not food in the first sense of the word. In previous photographic portraits, the questioning of man is positioned at the level of the body envelope, the skin, the gaze, what this particular individual could deliver to us. In "Vivenda" we are all concerned. We are made of skin, flesh, blood. The body, represented by the mass of the fridge, opens and closes at will, a possible introspection of envy or disgust; we nourish our flesh with another flesh. The philosopher Gilles Deleuze said: "meat is the common zone between man and animal, their indistinguishable zone"
