Biography, presentation of the artistic approach:
Born on February 19, 1994 in Saint-Lô, Alexandre Nicolle lives and works in Saint-Lô.
"I am an observer by nature, I notice many details, I analyse the spaces I visit, the situations I live in. These details I dwell on are often abnormal, unusual and heterogeneous elements. Like a maniac who puts an object back on a shelf, realigns a wobbly frame to the wall. I focus on details that are out of step with a hypothetical normality. It can be a situation that I find incongruous, an object used in a way other than its primary purpose or in a situation where it has nothing to do. All these oddities that I note are elements that make me smile, and carry an intellectual questioning most often social and political. Each element is like a bug in the matrix, a disruptive element, out of order, illogical or unusual. I enjoy these situations, take pleasure in giving them importance and I try to transmit them through different mediums. They bear witness to human imperfection, to the diversity of cultures and societies. "
