Letter in verse by the crown prince to his friend and former teacher Duhan de Jandun (Jacques Égide D. the Younger, 1685-1746), the "faithful leader of his earliest youth", who had been banished for his sake after the attempted escape of 1730. Frederick described the development of his character to him. At the end of the poem, Friedrich refers to Duhan as his true father.
