To Klemens Keyser, Wolfenbüttel. - Neil Alden Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the moon on July 21, 1969, when he said the famous sentence: "That's one small step for a man, one giant step for mankind". However, this sentence was handed down in the version "That's one small step for man, one giant step for mankind" and was also minted on a commemorative coin. Klemens Keyser, however, was of the opinion that he had heard "a man" in the live broadcast and therefore asked Neil Armstrong. He received the following answer: "The corrected version is the proper one, although I agree. It's difficult to understand in the radio transmission. - On National Aeronautics and Space Administration letterhead. - The letter from Neil Armstrong is one of the few that were released and is an outstanding document in contemporary history.
