The engraving was made by the painter's son, Lucian, after the composition of his father Camille Pissarro. This work is from the publication "Die Impressionisten" by Théodore Duret. The
The book, published in a limited edition of 1000 copies in 1909, contained three original engravings by Renoir, one by Cézanne, one by Guillaumin, one by Morisot and this one by Pissarro. In
this work the artist's love for the rural scenes is confirmed: he has often left Paris to discover the French countryside, and to represent, thanks to his works in the open air, the work of the farmers.
