The large vase is decorated to the body with a continuous narrative scene of an official and a Daoist monk with their entourage in a mountainous landscape. The shoulder is decorated with lotus cartouches interspersed with a geometric band. The neck is decorated with two shaped panels enclosing a boy at play separated by stylised shou characters.
