RURAL FLORAL GARDEN Oil on canvas. 60 x 73 cm. Signed "Richard Ranft" at lower right. In decorative gilded frame. In front of an old stone house and a garden wall interrupted by two pillars with a wooden gate, a splendid front garden with two large flowerbeds. On the wall directly a border with higher yellow-orange and red flowers, surrounded by stones, followed by a narrow path and a second border with three rows of colourful pansies and on the left edge a row of purple irises. A young woman in a long robe with a straw hat leads a small girl dressed in white with a white headdress on her hand between the borders. At the house behind, with a crimson tiled roof, a wooden scaffolding for climbing roses is attached and a high ladder casting shadows is leaning against the side wall.
