RIVERLANDSHIP WITH TREES AND VIEW OF A VERONESE TOWN WITH GATE AND TOWERS Oil on canvas. 115 x 146 cm. Unframed. The large-format painting shows the view of the town and snow-covered hills from a heightened cavalier's perspective with figures in the foreground. At each side rising trees as repoussoir, on the left side at the opposite bank raised, further town buildings in brighter light. In spite of the landscape-typical rendering of the northern Italian-Venetian or Bergamascan area, the architecture is probably an imaginative synopsis.
