Very fine reduced representation of the well-known painting "Madonna di Santa Margherita of Parmigiano" in the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna, which is much larger at 204 x 149 cm. The reduction in size - although the faces here are particularly finely defined - has led to simplifications, for example concerning the cloud formation. The painting, which is in Bologna, was created in 1527-1530 for the monastery of Santa Margherita and, like the painting we offer, also shows Mary with the Child Jesus, Margaret of Antioch, Petronius of Bologna, Saint Jerome and the archangel Michael.
