(Justification and completion of printing): morocco mastic, gilt decoration and mosaic of brown and grey-green morocco continuing on the spine, covers and lining, smooth spine bearing the author's name and the title of the work, beige suede lining and endpapers, marbled, untrimmed double endpapers, embossed cover and spine, folder and case (Pierre Legrain ; J. Anthoine Legrain). 49 woodcuts engraved in colours by Jules Chadel (1870-1941), 12 of which are full-page. The woods were engraved by the artist with the assistance of Germaine de Coster and Savinienne Tourrette, then hand drawn using Japanese methods by Yoshijito Uruschibara (Jules Chadel, drawings and engravings, 2015, No. 136). Unique edition of 121 copies on japanese paper. Copy enriched with 2 original signed drawings by Jules Chadel, bound at the head, and, at the end, an autograph letter signed by the artist decorated with an original watercolour (one page in-4). An engraving signed by Chadel for the Bacchante and a menu of the Contemporary Book Society of May 24, 1932 have been added at the end. Remarkable mosaic binding, executed by Jacques Anthoine-Legrain after a model by his father-in-law. From the Albert Natural library, with ex-libris (II,2009, nº 482).
