Our homeland. Paris, Éditions de la NRF, 1915 Petit in-4, 121 pp. and 1 f.n.ch.: cardboard of vellum stained in shades of blue, large octagonal green morocco piece decorated with three large flowers on a bed of foliage embedded in the centre of the plates, smooth spine bearing the title in gold, head gilt, untrimmed, cover and spine (René Kieffer). First separate edition. This text, initially published in the Cahiers de la Quinzaine in October 1905, is here republished after the death of Charles Péguy, who fell to the enemy, in front of Villeroy, on September 5, 1914. The author denounces the threats at the dawn of the First World War. (Vignes et Boudrot, Bibliographie des éditions de la NRF, 2011, no. 60.) One of the 56 copies reimposed in quarto format, printed separately on pure Voiron paper. Beautiful binding in painted vellum by René Kieffer, giving it the appearance of a marble stone.
