Jean Pierre Beckius is a Luxembourg painter trained in Impressionism at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris between 1919 and 1926. His travels formed his artistic signature, particularly during his stays in Naples, Rome and the Netherlands between 1933 and 1934. Nevertheless, very attached to his land, he returned and painted mainly the Moselle valley, for which he had a passion.
