Boissard, Jean Jacques Habitus variarum Orbis gentium - Habitz de Nations estrages - Costumes of many a folk of the earth, Mechelen, Caspar Rutz, 1581, with an engraved portrait of the author as well as of Nicolea and Loyse die Vienna, with 65 of originally 67 copper plates (1,2,4,2x5,3x6,7-20,20B,2x21,22-24,25B,25,27-61), one of the most impressive works on 16th century costumes The copper plates measuring ca. 23/30 cm mostly show 3 figures in various costumes, the first plate no. 6 below right inscribed ''Julius Golcius fe. 1581.'', the other plates unmarked, ...the legends of the respective figures are in Latin, French and German, erg. Half leather binding with spine labels and fragments of the original binding, horizontal quart. strong signs of age, partly dam., rest., stained, tears, creases and missing parts, plates tls. rest.
