ENTOURAGE DE JACQUES CALLOT (NANCY 1592 - 1635) Two figures including a butcher uncupping his beast Blood 8,5 x 11 cm Lined drawing, restored hole in the upper right-hand corner Another version, in sanguine and black stone, of the peasant holding his hat turned to the left, preserved in the collection of Windsor Castle, inv.4629 (see D.Ternois, Dessins de Jacques Callot, catalogue complet de son œuvre dessiné, F.de Nobele, Paris, 1962, , fig.394, repr.). The figure of the man depicting an animal is also very close to figure 395 in the work cited above . Another study of a butcher depicting his beast in black stone (8.5 x 6 cm) is attached.
