[Middle Ages] Teachings of St. Louis to his son. 5-page manuscript ¼ in-8 written in Old French on vellum, in Gothic characters and rubrics in blue and red painted letters, 14th century, North of France ? This is a rare and curious abridged version, in Old French/Patois, of the "short" text of the famous teachings written by Saint Louis to his son Prince Philippe (future Philip III the Bold) who will succeed him. The epistle is addressed to the individual and the future sovereign. The pious king recommends to his son faith, piety to the Church, the company of good people, charity towards the poor, etc. "These are li bom teaching ke li bom king loeps written with his hand in cartage a mon signeur philippon sen fil.
