BARBARA PEOPLES: Merovingian Triens gold struck probably at Souday (41170) in Loir & Cher A/ +SOLDIACOVIC or SOLIACOVIC ("S" lying down), stylized bust with bearded barbarian head on the right and with a pearl tendency. R/ + ALLEBODIO, anchored cross, resting on a globular head and flanked by two globules. Weight : 1.18 gr. Rare and quality currency. References: Belfort (ref: n° 4162) leaned towards an attribution to Souillé, canton of Ballon according to G. Ponton d'Amécourt (1825-1888) in the Sarthe by the monetary MALLEBODVS. Egon FELDER was leaning towards Sully sur Loire or Souday.
