Exceptional and important Savônnerie style rug. Carpet made and knotted by hand in the Savônnerie style, wool velvet on cotton foundations. Black field decorated with fine golden floral branches crenellated in twists and scrolls framing a central medallion with a crown of flowers inlaid with a polychrome floral bouquet decorated with double floral baskets and horns of plenty with floral sprays. Main border recalling the central field. 20th century 550 x 365 cm (Good condition)
