Amphora with flared neck Its rim is decorated with a lizard in relief biting the tail of a white snake. The head of the latter goes around and bites the tail of the lizard. Brown terracotta with red and white slip. Inca Culture, Peru 1200 - 1521 AD H. 20.5 - Diam. 11 cm Provenance: - Bears an old label No. 94 characteristic of sales at the Hotel Drouot in the 1920s and 1940s. Condition: Slight defect in the collar. Provenance: - Former European private collection
