It is most likely Charles-Nicolas Saladin. Born in 1773 in La Bassée, this doctor from Lille was appointed professor
of mathematics at the Lille Academy of Arts in 1762 and librarian of this city on 24 brumaire year IX. He
also worked as a professor of mathematics in Strasbourg where he died in 1829.
