Interesting pilarless sedan
French title
This Salmson S4-61 sedan was restored several years ago without counting. Indeed, the car was laid bare to receive substantial work. The painting was of course redone and still presents very well today. The interior, stretched with velvet, was refurbished and has a high level of finish. The carpets are also new, made of wool, like the roof. The woodwork was restored and revarnished at the same time. The trunk was dressed in vinyle to perfect the presentation of the car. All chrome was redone and are in very good condition of presentation. The aluminum bumpers were polished. The Salmson still has all these hubcaps, fenders, wheels, sticks and handles, in very good condition. The grille was re-chromed and painted like the bodywork. The wiring harness was also fully reconditioned and secured by the addition of fuses. The lower engine was restored by a machinist in Troyes, the moving parts were checked or replaced, the Cotal gearbox was checked, the exhaust line replaced, the connections to the ground redone, as were the brakes. The chassis was itself dismantled and carefully restored. This is an elegant, performant sedan from the early 1950s that has been carefully restored in the past. An expert report from 2015, estimated the car at € 23,500, showing that the car has hardly changed since, testifying to the quality of the restoration.
