A pair of rare animal groups. Nymphenburg, c. 1765. L. 22.5 cm. Horse attacked by a leopard. Bull attacked by three dogs. Moving animal groups on flat landscape pedestals. Polychrome staggered. Models probably by Dominikus Auliczek the Elder Group of horses with pressed rhombic shield on the base. Rest, burn cracks, best. "Provenance: From old South German private property. Dominic Auliczek the Elder (1734-1804) became model master of the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory in 1763 as successor to Franz Anton Bustelli and was factory inspector from 1773. In the documents of the manufactory there are entries on "60 unterschidliche Hatzen mit 2,3,4 et 5 Tieren; Lewen, Beren und Hunde von mehr Gattungen" in his era in 1765. Lit. Friedrich H.
