4/4 violin made in Germany "MARKNEUKIRCHEN" circa 1930 with an apocryphal label of "H.C.SILVESTRE...1880". , spruce top with fine irregular rings in the centre and widening towards the edges, two-piece back made of maple with fine, tight horizontal waves, ribs of the same wood, orange varnish with gradations, 358 mm, good condition with a bee wood study bow in an antique case.
